Mimisal — Between the Sea, Sand and Stories

I went looking for the coastline. What I found was a life shaped by the sea.

A photographic journey by Deepak Rajendran

There are places we visit to see, and then there are places we visit to feel. Some destinations impress us with their beauty, while others leave us with stories that stay in our minds long after we return.

Mimisal was one of those places for me.

I arrived with my camera, looking for the coastline — the sea, the sand, the changing light and those quiet frames that make photography meaningful. I expected to capture beautiful landscapes, fishing boats, waves and the peaceful atmosphere of a coastal village. But as I spent more time there, I realised that Mimisal had something much deeper to offer.

It was not just about the sea. It was about the people, their everyday routines, their relationship with nature and a lifestyle that has been shaped by generations of living beside the water.
